We would like to hire candidates who want to be a part of building excellence. Our company is currently seeking a Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager (FSQA) to join our team. The candidate will be a core part of a company working toward world-class status. The successful candidate will have the ability to solve a variety of problems, work well with others, and to demonstrate solid leadership skills. A degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Engineering, or similar is required. Additionally, Food and Beverage industry experience is a must as we are a Safe Quality Foods (SQF) certified facility.
The Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of food safety and quality within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Control: Implement and maintain quality control programs to ensure product quality at all stages of production, from sourcing raw materials to final distribution.
- Food Safety Compliance: Develop, implement, and manage food safety programs, including Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) plans, to ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay up to date with food safety and quality regulations and standards, and ensure the organization complies with local, state, federal, and international requirements.
- Inspections and Audits: Plan and coordinate inspections, audits, and assessments from regulatory agencies, customers, and third-party certification bodies. Address any non-compliance issues.
- Supplier Management: Work with suppliers to establish quality and safety standards for ingredients and materials used in food production.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of quality control and food safety processes, including incident reports, corrective actions, and compliance documentation.
- Product Testing: Oversee and manage product testing procedures to identify potential issues and ensure product safety.
- Team Management: Lead and manage a team of quality control and food safety professionals, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations. Lead and develop Food Safety and Quality programs to further enhance our capabilities.
- Continuous Improvement: Implement and oversee continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and safety while optimizing processes.
- Crisis Management: Develop and implement crisis management and recall plans in case of product safety issues, and work with relevant authorities and stakeholders to address concerns.
- Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that food safety and quality goals are communicated and understood throughout the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in food science, Microbiology, Quality Assurance, or a related field. A master's degree is often preferred.
- Certifications in GFCI programs required.
- Five plus years of experience in food safety and quality management, preferably in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, HACCP, and food quality control processes.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to handle and resolve quality and safety issues.

- Weekend availability
